Plus Ultra Application

Character Name: Sachya Hashimoto
Canon: Gravity Rush
Age: 24
Hero Alias: Raven (no, it doesn't have any deeper meaning, she just thought it sounded cool)
Occupation: Pro-hero turned history teacher, at least for now
Personality:
- Very happy to cultivate that cool, aloof, emotionless appeal. It's an important part of her image and brand as a hero.
- Pretty conscious of fashion to support it, even for civilian clothing. She doesn't go for classic pretty fashion, but for fashion that helps sell that appeal.
- Kind of a hipster, really.
- Fiercely competitive in most regards, even over surprisingly petty things or in cases when she really shouldn't be.
- Despite this, she's actually a nice, caring person, willing to let others win to make them feel better if she genuinely hurt them. Will also drop a contest if something important demands her attention.
- Is genuinely motivated by a desire to do right and help others. Any vanity about her image or desire to beat others goes out the window if it'd cause real harm, though she might be a bit slow on the uptake here. Still, it might come as a shock to people trying to bribe her or flatter her to get out of trouble.
- Is quick to anger at people abusing positions of power for their own benefit. Not quite a woman of the system at all costs.
- Any swagger, competitive instinct or similar is void the second serious fighting is afoot, in which case she becomes focused and direct.
- Actually quite emotional if people she cares about are in danger or about to do something stupid and she's likely to have her cool, collected facade shatter in that case. As much as possible she'll act like it didn't later, though.
- Can be pretty quiet when relaxed.
- Not much for domestic tasks or boring, repetitive work in general.
- As a history teacher, she's not much for either romanticizing the past or believing in the inevitable march of progress. History is messy and an approximation at best and what matters is what we do in the present to shape the futue anyway.
- An unreasonably big eater. Don't treat her to dinner unless you're willing to face the risks.
History:
- A single child from a pretty ordinary, unremarkable family.
- Except for being the kind of people to want their daughter to have a unique and meaningful name, giving her a variant spelling of a religious concept from Hinduism they didn't really understood.
- Joined UA as a hero course student and did quite well.
Became a sidekick after graduation, studying history on the side as a backup plan and because there's more to life than punching villains. Ideally speaking at least.
- Accepted a job offer from UA rather than open her own hero office. Less bureaucracy and still plenty of opportunity to actually help stop villains in practice. Besides, it might get her in touch with potential interns and future sidekicks.
- Has quite likely maintained a rivalry with a fellow student, sidekick and now teacher since they got accepted into UA almost a decade ago.
Quirk: Gravity shifting, a transformation quirk that despite the name involves changing mass, not messing directly with gravity. More specifically the quirk lets Raven increase or decrease her own mass. Decreasing her mass lets her jump unusually far and climb more easily, though at the expense of being able to brace herself worse and floatier, less precise movement in general. Increasing it makes it much harder to push her or move her, as well as letting her hit with far more force due to the increased mass behind it, at the cost of slower heavier movements as she needs to move a lot more herself without getting any stronger. Increasing her mass also risks breaking anything fragile she's standing on or pushing against.
To control this quirk and more generally fight, she's trained a lot and is in excellent physical shape to back it up. Even without using her quirk, she's a skilled unarmed fighter and a surprisingly strong, agile woman. When using it, she has managed a great deal of control, through its limitations, though she has by no means entirely overcome them.
Costume: Raven's quirk isn't one that can be easily enhanced through gadgets, so she hasn't even tried. Instead she's gone for a light one that's loose enough to not hamper her movements, but tight enough in the right places to not get caught on everything, at least with the exception of the aesthetic flourish of the sleeves.
